Fave EO moments: One of my favorite EO moments was walking on to the stage at the Alladin Theater with an ultra eclectic group of musicians and activists. Everyone doing their best with a mish mash of body percussion, vocal sounding, random shakers and tambourines. Right in front of me was Jon Fishman banging on a bottle, behind me was Julia Butterfly Hill, clapping and singing and behind her was Dennis Kucinich shaking a tambourine beautifully out of time. It was one of those moments where, I just had to smile at the absurdity of the moment and ask myself....."how did I end up here?"
Name some fantasy players you'd like to see be part of EO: Well, Here's a lineup I'd love to be part of. Feist (Vox, Guitar), D'Angelo (Vox, Keys), David Garibaldi (drums), Giovanni Hidalgo (percussion), Beady Belle (vox), Stevie Wonder (on Harmonica), Jamie Lidell (vox, technology), Pino Palladino (bass), Charlie Hunter (Guitar), Joshua Redman (sax) Is that too much to ask? What haven't you done in an EO performance yet that you would like to?: a backflip. A random comment about EO: Well, I really appreciate the opportunity to explore music with real freedom and community as the foundation. I find that the best results come from letting go of all judgments of the music, the musicians and myself. |
