BIOS - Matt Butler
The Everyone Orchestra : : The Redwood Project : : Creation Nation

MATT BUTLER is the founder and conductor of The Everyone Orchestra, a revolving cast of stellar musicians he brings together for festival superjams and special benefit events.  He is also a performer, producer and composer who creates engaging, genre-bending music.

Matt creates organic grooves and songs with Native American drums, didgeridoo, trapset and vocals. Matt’s debut CD, The Redwood Project is a benefit CD to help protect California’s ancient redwood ecosystem and was featured in the Grateful Dead Almanac.  Good Options, his second release, features stellar guest performances by Dr. Didg and members of Ratdog and Jambay.

For more than eight years, Matt was the drummer for West Coast jam band Jambay. With over 1,000 performances to their credit, Jambay frequented music festivals such as HORDE, Laguna Seca Daze, Hogfarm Pignic and Bumbershoot. Jambay also worked with Ken Kesey as the pit band for his play Twister.

Matt also spends time as a studio drummer and producer and loves making music with kids.
